Using GPS
Most GPS provide accurate directions to Thistle Gate Vineyard:

From Charlottesville (Rt. 64) (travel time is 30 min.)
Take Rt. 20 South. Drive approximately 18 miles to Scottsville. Just past the Exxon gas station, go left (east) on Rt. 6. Drive 5 miles. Thistle Gate Vineyard is on your left. See a four-board black fence, blue gate with thistle finials and Thistle Gate Farm sign. If you cross over the Hardware River bridge, you have gone too far. After passing through the gate, the winery/tasting room are on your immediate right.
From Richmond, VA (travel time is about 60 min.)
Take Rt. 64 W or Rt. 6 W.
Rt. 64. Take the Zion Crossroads exit (exit 136, Rt. 15). Drive south on Rt. 15 for approximately 15 miles, through Palmyra. After passing over the Rivanna River bridge, drive 2.5 miles. Turn slight right onto Central Plains Rd. Drive 0.3 miles and turn right again onto Central Plains Rd. (you must turn to stay on Central Plains Rd.). Drive 3.5 miles. Go right (west) on Rt. 6. Drive about 4 to 5 miles. Pass over Hardware River bridge. Thistle Gate Vineyard is on your immediate right. See a four-board black fence, blue gate with thistle finials and Thistle Gate Farm sign. After passing through the gate, the winery/tasting room are on your immediate right.
Rt. 6. Take Rt. 6 east through Columbia to Rt. 15. Turn slight right (north) onto US-15/James Madison Hwy. Travel 3.7 miles. Turn left onto Bethel Church Rd. Drive 0.4 miles and turn left onto Central Plains Rd. Drive 3.5 miles. Go right (west) on Rt. 6. Drive about 4 to 5 miles. Pass over Hardware River bridge. Thistle Gate Vineyard is on your immediate right. See a four-board black fence, blue gate with thistle finials and Thistle Gate Farm sign. After passing through the gate, the winery/tasting room are on your immediate right.
